YOUTH ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

Work in one of the youngest and most dynamic communities in Tasmania! Brighton Council’s Community Development and Engagement team has an opportunity for a part-time Youth Engagement Officer (3 days per week – days/hours to be negotiated) to work with young people aged 12 – 25 years across the entire municipality of Brighton.

You are passionate about young people, their development and voice. You have demonstrated experience in youth work and thrive on working in community, making a real difference in the lives of young people.

You will have a qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Social Science, Education or Community Development, with a sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary community development approaches, in particular Asset Based Community Development and Trauma Informed Community Building.

The position will be a 2 year contract, with the potential for this to be extended.

$87,324 per annum (pro rata) plus superannuation at 11%
