Thriving and rapidly transforming, Brighton is one of Tasmania’s fastest growing Councils and is located 20km north-east of Hobart.

We are seeking a motivated and driven Planning Officer to join our growing team and help shape the future of the area. The core function of the role will be to provide planning advice and undertake planning assessments on a wide range of development types across the area.

You will have formal qualifications in a planning related field and have a minimum of one year on the job experience undertaking statutory or strategic planning assessments. You will have a sound knowledge of how planning schemes and the Land Use Planning and Approval Act 1993 operates. Your well-developed communication skills and proactive approach will enable you to build positive relationships and meet deadlines amidst conflicting priorities. Your ability to prioritise tasks and problem solve will create a positive experience for customers.

The Position
• Annual Salary of $60,000 to $75,000 pro rata (O.8 FTE) plus 9.5% Superannuation
• Four day working week with flexible working conditions
