Physical Services

Old house in PonvilleCouncil's Physical Services Department manages Council's infrastructure and assets. Physical Services comprises two sections Asset Services and the Works Department. Asset Services manage Council's assets while the Works Department carry out the works required to construct, repair and maintain the assets.

Roads

Council's objective is to maintain the road network to a standard that is acceptable and safe for the travelling public.

Anyone wishing to notify Council of a pothole or repairs to a road, bridge or footpath should contact Council's Works Depot on 6268 7030.

Bridges

Council maintains a number of bridges, culverts and pedestrian underpasses that form part of the road network. Council's objective is to maintain these bridges etc to a standard that is acceptable and safe for the public.

Sewerage

Council's objective is to maintain the sewerage system to a standard that adequately conveys effluent to the sewage treatment plant without adverse effects to the environment.

Council also treats effluent to standards required by the Department of Primary Industry, Water and Environment.
